Dietary Services

At Meeker Memorial, our Dietary and Nutrition Services team is staffed with a registered dieticians and food service professionals committed to providing our patients with healthy meals. With few exceptions, patients have the freedom to order anytime between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. from our room-service menu. A nurse or aide can assist you with menu choices to make sure that the diet ordered by your physician or dietitian, along with any diet restrictions, are followed.

Nutrition Counseling

Good nutrition is a cornerstone to good health, especially when recovering from an illness or surgery.

During your stay, the dietitian may meet with you regarding your nutrition requirements and concerns. You may also request a visit from the dietitian at any time while you are here.

Our team can also help accommodate a variety of dietary needs and preferences, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and other specialized diets whenever possible.

Outpatient nutrition counseling is also available with a referral from your physician. During your stay, the dietitian may meet with you regarding your nutrition requirements, concerns and counseling for a variety of conditions including:

  • Obesity / weight loss
  • Diabetes
  • General nutrition care across all ages
  • Heart Healthy diet
  • Scientific based advice on vitamin / mineral supplement use
  • Nutrition support including tube feeding and TPN
  • Weight gain
  • Cancer
  • Dysphagia
  • GI conditions including Crohn’s, diverticulosis, and celiac sprue
  • Pregnancy nutrition
  • Lipid disorders (high cholesterol, triglycerides, etc…)
  • Wound healing
  • Renal failure

Food & Amenities

At Meeker Memorial, we take pride in offering patients, visitors, and staff access to delicious meals made with homemade, wholesome ingredients. Our menu features minimally processed options that are both comforting and nourishing.

Prairie Winds Café – located across from the imaging department waiting room – is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offers an assortment of sandwiches, desserts, and cookies. Fresh coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day!

Stop in between 11:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. every day and enjoy wonderful, tasty lunch specials made with fresh ingredients. Daily specials are posted in the Café and in the elevators.

We hope you’ll join us for lunch — “hospital food” has never tasted so good!

Vending Services

For your convenience, we offer several vending machines stocked with beverages, snacks, and hot & cold items.

First Floor: Adjacent to the Chapel, in the Laboratory waiting area (beverages, snacks, and hot & cold items)

Second Floor: North of the Rehabilitation Services waiting area (beverages and snacks)

Third Floor: Next to the restrooms/across from the elevator before you enter the patient room area (beverages and snacks)

Microwaves are located on the first floor in the Emergency Department waiting area (off the main lobby) and on the third floor in the family waiting area located next to the elevator.
