Biography

Dr. Leah Schammel, DO, is Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology.

She completed her Dermatology Residency at Beaumont Hospital – Trenton and a Transitional Internship at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center. Dr. Schammel earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Her clinical focus includes procedural dermatology, with a particular expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer removal. Dr. Schammel is passionate about holistic patient care, valuing the opportunity to connect with patients through their personal stories, families, and interests, which enriches her practice.

Dr. Schammel was drawn to medicine through her love of science and chose dermatology for its visual and procedural nature. She finds great fulfillment in working with exceptional patients and a dedicated team, making her work deeply rewarding.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Schammel enjoys supporting her three daughters, who compete with the New London Spicer Blackcat dance team and Just for Kix teams.
