Biography

Dr. Matthew Hwang, MD, is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship, Orthopaedic Residency, and General Surgery Internship at Tulane University before joining St. Cloud Orthopedics.

Dr. Hwang earned his M.D. from the University of Minnesota, with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, graduating with Highest Honors.

His research includes humeral non-unions and tibial osteotomies, and he has presented extensively on shoulder surgery and orthopedic trauma. He holds memberships in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and Arthroscopy Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and served as Department Chair of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Cloud Hospital.
