Any particular areas of clinical interest:

 Obstetrics, pediatrics, travel medicine

What made you want to become a doctor:

I’ve always had a strong interest in science.  When I went to college, I had thought I wanted to do medical research but I quickly realized I enjoy interacting with people more than sitting in a lab.  really enjoyed my human physiology course where I learned how the body works and I’ve always wanted to do something that would help people.  Around this same time my grandfather had colon cancer and saw how the hospice team made such an impact on his and my family’s lives that I wanted to do something similar as a career.

What do you love about practicing medicine:

I love taking care of the full spectrum of ages and watching families and children grow

What do you wish you could tell every patient ?

You are your own best advocate

Fun Fact about You:

I really enjoy traveling to Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

What do you enjoy doing when not at work:

I enjoy spending time with my family.  We enjoy traveling and hiking together.  I also enjoy riding my peloton bike and will ride at least three times a week.

What city do you live in?  Married?  Kids?

I live in Litchfield with my husband and daughter and son.

What brought you to Litchfield:

I was born at Meeker Memorial Hospital and raised in Litchfield.  Both my husband and my family live here in town.  I enjoyed my RPAP (Rural Physician Associate Program) in Willmar during my medical school and realized I wanted to practice and live in a small town after living in Boston and the Twin Cities.

 Do you have pets:

I have a dog named Finn who is a terrier dashound mix which makes him always look a like a puppy.
